October Report

Hello Fellow Freedom Fighters.  I have to say it is great to be coming into some cooler weather.  With the better temps we are seeing more and more bikes on the road.  Safety is of the utmost importance as cage drivers have to get used to sharing the road with more of us.  Our District meeting this month is focused on Safety.  We need to do our part as do the cagers in sharing the road. 

It was great to see a good turnout at the ADEQ meeting today.  The emissions bill is now officially off to the EPA and they are guessing that it may be in effect in January 2011.  It has taken a long time but it is almost completed.  See stay tuned to the Legislative reports from Mick for updates.

The Ironhorse and Westsiders Districts have a big upcoming Event planned for November 7^th, and I would like to personally invite you to join us at our “Santa’s Kickoff to the Holiday’s” event.  Our primary goal is to raise money for “Us.. The MMA” we will also be collecting food and donations for the local food banks closest to our meeting spots.  Last year just before our event the Fire Dept came out to the Ranch (our meeting spot) and asked if they had any food to give to the food bank and they told us that the food bank in this area is not State or Federally funded and the shelves were bare.  Kids were calling 911 and coming by the Fire Station because they had nothing to eat.  We added a food donation to our admission price and collected almost 2 truck loads of food and people gave donations that added up to and extra $650.00 for them.  We still made our money and all was good in town that day!  So we are doing it again… and here is that scoop for this year.

The Event will be Out at Western Trails Ranch, November 7th from 10am – 5pm family orientated… after 6 adult orientated. 

Admission: $10.00 or $5.00 and 5 Food Items~  

·        There will be a Hot Rod/Rat Rod show, a Bike show and a Tattoo Contest.

·        Santa will be there for the kids, big kid’s area with game and prizes

·        (2) 50/50 raffles.. (and the Tilted Kilt girls and the Heldorado Girls will be there to sell you tickets!)

·        12 -5 hourly raffles and auctions with items donated from our great sponsors at Bikers Bay, First Things First Foundation, Ramjet Racing, United Tattoo, Guitar Center, Credit Union West, Paul Yaffe, Against the Wind, Hacienda Harley, Top Shelf, The Diamondbacks and more.  

·        One of the Guitars we have to auction is autographed by Peter Fonda who starred in EasyRider, Wild Hogs.  

·        Lots of Vendors… one of the vendors has a 2002 FLSTF (Fatboy) with approximately 14K miles- Mint Condition with Lots of Chrome that is being raffled off.  There will be only 150 ticket sold at $100.00 ea. and all the proceeds from this bike will be given to a Veteran in need. ·        Billy Shuman, a local dirt track champion, 5 year Manzanita “STAR” that drove in the “World of Outlaws” will have three cars on display.  A Midget, Cage Sprinter and a CRA Sprinter.

·        There will be two live bands, 2 Knuckles Deep and Fools Life Band!! After 6pm the event will be geared for adults. 

·        There will be Food and Drinks and a Good Time for all!
